J002 Informal Jungle Jacket – Stone

Informale was founded in 2017 by Jordana and Steve Calder in Melbourne. They developed, with a small local workshop, a line of products suited to the life of the modern man who wants to adopt an informal elegance.

We believe this fabric is ideal for creating timeless and versatile garments that can be worn for years.

The Jungle Jacket has a rich history dating back to the Vietnam War, when it was worn by soldiers in the jungle. It was designed to be lightweight and breathable, while being strong enough to withstand the harsh jungle environment. The Jungle Jacket typically features large patch pockets, a buttoned front, and a stand-up collar.

The J002 is Informale's interpretation of the second version of the famous Jungle Jacket used by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Its utilitarian character has been preserved; the jacket is unlined, with its characteristic patch pockets, as well as a shirt collar and cuffs. But of course, its silhouette has been modified to adapt to an urban environment.

Over the years, the Jungle Jacket has become popular among military-inspired apparel enthusiasts. It is a versatile garment that can be worn with jeans and a t-shirt for a casual look, with chinos and a shirt, or even over a suit for a more dressed-up outfit.
