Sky blue semi-spread collar shirt – Ardent

Our sky blue shirt with a generous semi-spread collar and simple Ardent cuffs is part of Ardentes Clipei's ready-to-wear collection.
Designed with the same attention to detail as our bespoke pieces, it stands out with its refined construction, a semi-fitted cut optimized for comfort, and high-quality cotton poplin fabric.

Fit
We opted for a generous semi-spread collar due to its 9.5 cm point length. This length allows the points to tuck better under a waistcoat or jacket lapels. For a more casual look, this collar can also be worn open.

Designed to be versatile, the shirt is more formal than casual, with its plain placket.

Our experience in bespoke tailoring has led us to evolve the pattern of our ready-to-wear shirts. The semi-fitted cut of our sky blue shirt with a semi-spread collar offers more room in the shoulders for optimal comfort.

This shirt also features simple, rounded cuffs with a single mother-of-pearl button. French seams and a gusset will further enhance the shirt's durability.

Fabric
Originating in Avignon in the 15th century, poplin is a plain-weave fabric that can be made from pure cotton, synthetic materials, or a blend of other materials. It is characterized by a dense weave and is soft to the touch.
Ours is a lightweight cotton poplin, designed for year-round use: breathable during summer but sufficiently opaque.

Along with twill, poplin is the dressiest shirt fabric due to its smooth and flawless surface. It is ideal for a dress shirt if one is looking for a relatively matte finish. Although often used for similar shirts, there are some key differences between the two, starting with the fact that they are not woven in the same way.

While twill is also a plain-weave fabric, poplin is woven with a fine warp thread and a thicker weft thread. Although both are strong materials, poplin is often softer and more breathable than twill.

We prioritize natural materials; this shirt is cut from 100% cotton, respectful of your skin and the Earth.
