Manley Collar Shirt Midnight Blue – Ardent

Our Ardent summer shirt with a Manley collar and simple rounded cuffs is part of Ardentes Clipei’s ready-to-wear collection.

We chose a 100% linen fabric in midnight blue from Thomas Mason. Paired with an open and relaxed Manley collar, this lightweight shirt is perfectly suited for the summer season.

The collar’s name comes from former Jamaican Prime Minister Michael Norman Manley, known for his elegance and sense of style. A proponent of open and generous collars, Michael Norman Manley was photographed many times with this type of collar in the 1970s.

Fit
Our experience in made-to-measure has led us to evolve the pattern of our ready-to-wear shirts. Designed to be worn during the summer season, the shirt’s cut is intentionally looser for optimal comfort.

This shirt also features simple rounded cuffs, grey mother-of-pearl buttons, and two flap chest pockets. The French seams and reinforced gussets will further enhance the shirt’s robustness.

Fabric
The shirt is entirely made of linen from Normandy and woven in Italy by Thomas Mason. The fabric is not only among the most durable, but it is also the result of an ethical and transparent process based on local expertise and low-impact practices.

Linen is distinguished by its lightness, freshness, and breathability, making it an ideal choice for the summer season. Its irregular texture and natural wrinkled appearance give it a relaxed and authentic elegance. We therefore prioritize natural and durable materials.
